Once the Qwant app is installed on your Android device, you can set it as your default browser. All links will then automatically open in Qwant.
Prerequisites
- Have the Qwant app installed from Google Play.
Method 1 — From Android Settings
The procedure may vary depending on your manufacturer (Samsung, Xiaomi, Google Pixel…), but the principle is the same.
- Open Settings on your device.
- Tap Apps or Applications.
- Tap Default apps or Choose default apps.
- Tap Browser.
- Select Qwant from the list.
That’s it: all links will open in Qwant.
Method 2 — On the Next Link Opening
If Qwant is installed but not yet set as default, Android will prompt you to choose the browser the next time you open a link:
- Tap a link in any app.
- Android will show a list of available browsers.
- Choose Qwant.
- Tap Always to make it your default browser.
If Qwant Does Not Appear in the List
- Make sure the app is properly installed and up to date.
- Restart your device.
- Uninstall and then reinstall the app if necessary.
