Qwant's Flash Answer is an automatically generated summary displayed at the top of certain search results to directly answer a question.
What is the purpose of the AI answer?
When you ask Qwant a factual question (a definition, a date, a simple how-to…), the AI answer aims to provide you with a concise response without having to open multiple links. It relies on the web pages indexed in our results and cites the sources used to produce the summary.
It mainly appears for factual questions where a summary saves time — not for all searches.
How can you recognize an AI answer?
An AI answer appears in a separate block above the regular search results. It is labeled “Flash Answer” and accompanied by links to the sources used.
The regular results remain displayed below/next to it: the AI answer is added to your search experience, it does not replace it.
You stay in control
You can disable the display of AI answers at any time from your settings. This preference is saved in your browser, or across all your devices if you are logged into a Qwant account.
If an AI answer seems incorrect or incomplete to you, you can report it to us from the relevant block.
