The right to be forgotten (or right to delisting) is a right stemming from the GDPR that allows you to request the removal of certain search results personally concerning you when these results infringe on your privacy.
Important: this right does not delete the content from the original page; it prevents its display in the search engine results for searches associated with your first and last name. To have the content itself removed, we recommend contacting the site hosting it directly.
Conditions to Exercise This Right
Your request will be evaluated according to several criteria:
- Does the content concern your private life (and not your public or professional life if you are a public figure)?
- Is it inaccurate, outdated, or irrelevant in light of current usage?
- Is there a public interest in keeping the information in the results (for example, for a public, judicial, or media role)?
The right to be forgotten is not absolute: it is balanced against the public’s right to information.
How to Make Your Request

- Fill out the form by providing:
- Your contact details and proof of identity.
- The exact URLs of the results you wish to have delisted.
- The search query that brings up these results.
- The detailed reasons for your request.
- Submit your request.
Our team reviews each request individually. You will receive a response within one month, in accordance with the GDPR.
What Happens After My Request?
You will receive confirmation by email. If your request is accepted, the concerned results will be delisted for searches conducted in countries where Qwant is available. If it is denied, we will explain the reasons.
If you disagree with our decision, you may contact the CNIL (the French data protection authority) or the supervisory authority in your country.
