How to add or modify data ?

As explained in the previous point, Qwant Maps uses several data sources to know the addresses and places.

To add or modify an address or a place, it is therefore necessary to modify this information in one of the sources used by Qwant Maps. The modification will then be automatically reflected on Qwant Maps. 

It may take a few days for this modification to show up on Qwant Maps, depending on the type of data involved. 

I wish to modify an address: 

OpenStreetMap (OSM): https://www.openstreetmap.org
To contribute to OSM it is necessary to connect to the site and then create an account. Creating an account is very quick and easy.
After logging in, simply click on the “Edit” button at the top of the page, then search for and click on the address you wish to edit. 

I wish to add a location: 

• In France: it is possible to add a location in two ways
  • OpenStreetMap (OSM): https://www.openstreetmap.org
    To contribute to OSM, it is necessary to connect to the site and create an account. Creating an account is very quick and easy. 
    After logging in, you just have to click on the “Edit” button at the top of the page, then click on the desired address and add the location via the “Point” mode. We then recommend that you fill iin as many fields as possible: category of location, hours, telephone, site, etc.

  • PagesJaunes: if you are a company, you have the possibility to list it on PagesJaunes so that it is also visible on Qwant Maps: https://www.solocal.com/landing/solocal-inscription-pagesjaunes 

• Outside France:

    To contribute to OSM you need to connect to the site and create an account. Creating an account is quick and easy.
    After logging in, all you need do is click on the “Edit” button at the top of the page, then click on the desired address and add the location via the “Point” mode. We recommend that you fill in as many fields as possible: category of location, hours, telephone, site, etc.

I wish to edit a location: 

• If it says “In partnership with PagesJaunes” or if the PagesJaunes logo is present on the description of the location, then it is necessary to edit it on PagesJaunes: 
  • Go to https://www.pagesjaunes.fr
  • Search for the business concerned and go to its profile 
  • Click on the “I know this business” or “This is my business” buttons to suggest a modification of the information 

• If the mention “In partnership with PagesJaunes” is not present, the location can be found on OpenStreetMaps (OSM)
  • On Qwant Maps, at the bottom of the description of the location, you can find an OSM insert with “View” or “Edit” buttons
    
  • Click on “Edit”, you will be redirected to OpenStreetMap. It will then be necessary to log in or create an account on OSM in order to edit the information relative to the given location.
